Become a Member of the Ireland Chapter of PMI
The Ireland Chapter of PMI is one of the largest and fastest growing PMI chapters in Europe with over 800 members.
In addition to the normal advantages of being a PMI member, the Ireland Chapter promotes the Project Management profession by:
- Organising specific project management focused events
- Through our training providers, helping to further your career and professional development
- Establishing a network of project managers, in various companies, across a spectrum of industries
Events
A key goal of the chapter is to organise events for the members. This gives you the opportunity to listen to speakers - often other project managers - talk about their own experiences and situations, successful projects they have run, challenges they faced and how they were overcome (or not as the case may be!)
In addition events are an excellent way to find out many of the common problems project managers have as well as discovering common solutions.
There are several categories of events (all standard events are free to members). They include:
- Webinars
- Evening sessions
- Half day events
- Whole day workshops
- Dedicated networking events
- Company events (So far: HP, IBM, Dell, Microsoft, Ericsson and PwC)
- New members meet-ups
- And more…
For a complete list of events go to the events section of this web-site.
Professional Development
The recognised Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation is certified after studying the PMBOK and then taking an exam. We are implementing initiatives in order to assist and encourage more people in the Chapter to obtain this standard. If you already have a PMP certification you will be able to earn valuable Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward maintaining it.
Networking
In the Ireland Chapter of PMI, you have the opportunity for face-to-face contact with peers from various organisations and industries working in the project management profession. Find out about opportunities, resources and expertise that can help you in your career and personal development.Apart from informal contacts gained through chapter meetings and committee work, we have dedicated networking / social sessions after each event, and one or two events dedicated entirely to networking through the year.
