18:40 Boardmatch Ireland Benefits and Impacts

Fiona O’Connor is Boardmatch Ireland’s Consultant – Corporate Development. Her principal role with Boardmatch Ireland is to seek new corporate partners and ensure that professional staff from the corporate sector are able to add value to the boards of not for profit organisations.

Fiona has worked in the corporate sector both in Ireland and internationally. She has extensive experience in the field of executive recruitment and set and ran her own international consultancy. Fiona has worked with Boardmatch for four months and has recently organised our successful breakfast seminar entitled Effective Governance: Inspired Leadership bringing international and national speakers to an audience of over 60 corporate and not for profit leaders.

The talk will consist of a short overview of Boardmatch Ireland – where, why and when it was setup, and how it sits in today’s not for profit sector.

There will also be an exploration of some of the benefits of volunteering at strategic level for project managers, their businesses and the not for profit sector, including a recognition of the impacts of professionally focussed boards for not for profit organisations.

Finally, the ways for project managers to get on board will also be addressed.
