18:40 Clarion Project Management Practices Survey 2008
Managing Director, Pat Millar will present the results of Clarion’s annual survey into project management practices in Irish organisations.
- The presentation will cover the questions asked during the survey, the results, how these vary by sector.
- Pat will also explore how degree to which things have changed since last year and what conclusions can be drawn from these changes.
- The presentation will also look at whether methodologies are becoming more common and what the impact of this and will examine the role of the project office and the degree to which this is helping to improve project management practices in Irish organisations.
- The presentation will conclude with a number of recommendations that should allow people to improve the project management capability within their organisations and to advance the discipline of project management.

- In order to look at improving organizational project management capability we first need to understand where we are at now, what factors influence the overall capability and how we compare with others in our own sector and in other sectors.
- Ger will explain how a project management maturity model can be used to analyse the current level of capability of any organization and as a basis for creating a roadmap to improve the level of capability.
- Ger will outline the four key elements that need to be considered when determining maturity (people, processes, organization and tools), how these can be assessed and how they interact.
