Only six weeks into the year and we have already had some excellent speakers at our chapter events.

First out of the blocks Peter Robbins of the Innovation Foundation gave a very thought provoking presentation on fostering innovation. Peter's interactive approach with the chapter members was highy original and engaging.

Later in January Terry Vick of Boston Scientific described how project management is alive and well in Ireland and why the application of PM skills is imperative in gaining investment.

This double header event in Galway was completed by consultant Michael Cavanagh who gave us insight into the next evolutionary stage of project management.

Chapter members turned out in force last week to hear Catherine Hughes of Version 1 on best practices for IT service delivery and how to get it right.

The renowned project management speaker Mark Price Perry finished the evening with an expert view on business driven project portfolio management.

Invest in yourself this year

Just consider the diversity of the business sectors covered in these events. The project management profession has few boundaries.

You can grow your career in a rich variety of areas. A great opportunity to explore the possibilities is to attend the PMI Global Congress 2011 which is being held for the very first time in Ireland.

So what are you going to do this year?
